Caller Id

Announcements of packages that are now released.

Postby Lightning » Sat Jan 17, 2009 7:04 pm

This package is a simple script that uses a caller ID capable modem to log all incoming phone numbers with a date and time. Logs are stored for 180 days in a daily log that can be viewed from the web control panel.

Be sure that your modem is caller ID capable before loading this package, otherwise you will never see any output and the script will not start. To check your modem manually try these commands
Code: Select all
       OK  ->output
       OK  -> output

You then should see caller ID information on the screen when a call is recieved. If you do not see a "OK" after each command then you may need to try another code to enable caller ID like "AT%CCID=1" " AT+VCID1" "AT#CC1" "AT*IC1". To stop minicom use ~. (tilde dot).

You can install this package by updating your global package list in the setup or manually using "pkg -cf -/" and look in the "beta" package section for "callid-0.2-lightning.pkg"
If you are afraid that you might make a mistake. The chances are high that you will never learn anything.

I am having difficulty getting this working :-(

The process is running and it is creating logfiles but all that ever appears in them is ".... (re)initialising modem ...".

The minicom test works fine (if I disable the callerid pkg first).
