Package offer: Accounting package

Announcements of packages that are now released.

Postby The Icy K » Fri Dec 20, 2002 10:20 am

<font color='#3769B4'>Hi all,

I am very much in doubt whether this is the right forum section or not, but as we don't have a "package offer" forum, I thought this place was the most appropriate.

I have made some scripts to watch the (incoming) data traffic generated by the users of my lan, and block them partially or totally if they exceed a limit.
I was however not able to test the blocking in real life, cause the users refuse to pass the limit ;-)))))

If at least 5 users are interested, I'll try to make a package out of it (that is, if the change from December to January goes well, accounting-wise).

You can see a <a href="http://the-icy-k.homelinux.net/facc-u.png" target="_blank">screenshot here</a>.

Cheers and merry Christmas,
Dick</font>

<font color='#000000'>Merry X-Mas.

Wrong section, sounds like an announcement.  You are announcing that there will be a package if there is enough interest in this package.

Thanks Howler,

<font color='#000000'>Well I would just make another forum here "Do you want this" another one "Do you not want this " another, "should we have this" ......

:;):

I guess when it comes to packages in "general" then it is a 3rd party section isssue.  If it is something about a package on the site or the package checking or something that has to do with the FREESCOsoft site and the packages, then it would go in that section.  I am not sure exactly what all will be allowed there yet.

I am afraid there are too many sections and too many things going on to keep them all straight in one centralized place like this.

<font color='#3769B4'>OK.

I'll try to make a package out of it.
There are still some minor things I's like to change, an I'd like to let it run on both 027 and 030 (it's currently only running on 030).
I also would like to check the month-change before releasing it.

If it all goes well, release is planned by the first week of January.

Thanks for the cheers and merry X-mas to all,

Dick</font>

Hi,

The change from December to January didn't go well, so I had to make some changes.
Also, blocking Kazaa turned out to be impossible, so I had to implement some other 'punishment' :;): (rshaper).

But the good new is, the stuff is still under development, there will be a package in the end. :)

btw: Looking at your nick, I think you're a fan of "The Matrix" (the movie).
Check the announcement section for some Matrix stuff after about a week or so   .

Cheers!

I-d like to bump this thread and ask about the status on the package.

In any event, you-ve got my interest and an offer to assist as I may. I am a newbie, but am spending quite some time everyday with Freesco, rrdtool, iptotal, angel.
