<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>NETPBM v10.11.7</span>
Based on <a href='http://netpbm.sourceforge.net/' target='_blank'>http://netpbm.sourceforge.net/</a> have I made a package for Freesco 0.3.x.
This package is based on NETPBM 10.11.7

The NETPBM package contains aprox. 260 command line utilities to create/convert/manipulate/etc. all kind of image files. Most tools operate on one of these 5 graphic formats:

  • pbm - portable bitmap file format
  • pbm - portable bitmap file format
  • ppm - portable pixmap file format
  • pgm - portable graymap file format
  • pnm - portable anymap file format

The xxxtoyyy tools can convert between the various formats, supported are a *LOT* of formats, e.g. JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, etc.

All man pages are HTML-ized in the package, so you can copy or link these to your /www root for referal.

<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Requirements:</span>
  • HD based freesco with sufficient free space, aprox. 11 Mb
  • lewy-lib package
  • perl is required for some of the tools

<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Installation:</span>
  • pkg -i <a href='http://www.woodi.net/freesco/netpbm-woodi' target='_blank'>http://www.woodi.net/freesco/netpbm-woodi</a>

This is my first package for Freesco so please let me know of any bugs or other strange things about the package! B)

Enjoy!

Congratulations woodi !

One suggestion, stick to the format packagename_version_author. This is currently the defacto standard for all package names.

Gongratulations woodi with your first package!

A few suggestions:

1) I have to agree with Nacho's comment.

2) I've noticed you have the libraries in a seperate lib directory /usr/local/netpbm/lib and use the rc_netpbm script to link these to /lib if the lib is not found there already.
No offence, but that is the 027 way of doing things...

For 03x the required libraries should be in /pkg/lib and the package system will link them to /lib during installation (and reboot). Special care must be taken with libc.so.5 since that is a system crucial library. You cannot simply package that library in /pkg/lib and hope for the best. You can have a look at my apache_1.3.26_dingetje installation script for an example howto handle libc.so.5, which is basically "check if it's on the target system already, if not copy it to /pkg/lib.

Anyone that's got this package somewhere?
The authors link seems to be dead and this package never made it to FREESCOSoft so it seems :(
