setup Freesco 0.45: ext2 partition

Postby lotus123r5 » Wed Dec 23, 2015 10:07 am

other question to start with a new-old computer to setup/configure Freesco 0.45...
is it better to format the full disk first to ext2 with for example gparted or does the move2hd command this for me if the disk is formatted with fat32.... Thx!

If you install the ext2 package, which will install on any running FREESCO (floppy or CD) then it has built in the "cfdisk" command to partition and then format a hard drive and it is all sort of automated. In addition if you use a "raid" enabled kernel and have more than one hard drive in the system then it will go through the process of setting up a raid system when moving to a hard drive.

So the simple answer is run the setup and go to the package section and there is an option to install the "ext2" package. No other programs or effort is necessary.
If you are afraid that you might make a mistake. The chances are high that you will never learn anything.
