Bluez With Freesco?

Support section for FREESCO v0.4.x 3rd Party Packages

Postby Klaus » Mon Apr 13, 2009 6:37 am

Hi,

I'm new to Freesco and would very much like to use it for my project. I'm trying to build a Bluetooth router. My main question is: would it be possible to recompile Freesco while enabling BlueZ in the kernel?

I will be using a USB bluetooth dongle. Could somebody advise of any other problem that might pop up?

Thanks,

Klaus.

Looks like the 2.4.x and 2.6.x Kernel requirement maybe problematic. Also, USB support for Freesco is not good. USB boot devices are possible and even that is more due to BIOS support/translation. Might be interesting to see if Bluez could be stripped of the USB stuff and worked into the PCMCIA derived Bluetooth hardware.

I would add that unless you are quite knowledgeable with the Linux 2.0.x kernel and C programming the odds are very unlikely that FREESCO is going to work.
If you are afraid that you might make a mistake. The chances are high that you will never learn anything.
