Ooops, I made a minor change to the configuration script a while back and I forgot the package was compressed in a special way so the smbfs.o driver was included in the /boot/drv directory. I have corrected the package and it should install fine now.
However there is nothing wrong with your current install if you copy the smbfs.gz module into the /boot/drv/ directory and reboot. Or you can just reinstall the package from my site until it gets propagated amongst the other FREESCOsoft mirrors.

I'm getting these errors when I try to install this package on 0.4.2:

Code: Select all
Unpacking samba_2.2.7a_nachoman77.tgz ..        Done
Checking for library conflicts...               Done
cp: /pkg/lang/samba_2.2.7a/english/samba.txt: No such file or directory
insmod: /lib/modules/2.0.40: No such file or directory
insmod: /lib/modules: No such file or directory
insmod: smbfs.o: no module name found
cat: Can't open /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf.setup
/boot/1784~/install: cannot create /usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf: No such file or directory
NAT and firewalling is enabled...       Done
Do you want to edit your Samba options in smb.conf (y/n)? [y]
/boot/1784~/install: /pkg/rc/rc_samba: No such file or directory
Successfully installed...                       samba_2.2.7a_nachoman77

Even though it says successfully installed there is no smbmount in /pkg/bin.

I recently updated the package to change the default configuration and when I repackaged the package I used the wrong packager flags for this package. This is due to it needing the driver loaded outside the package directory, sorry.

You will need to re-install the package from my site until it gets updated to all of the FREESCOsoft mirrors next week. You will also find that the existing package installed incorrectly and needs to be removed manually with these commands
Code: Select all
rm-rf  /pkg/pkg
rm-rf /pkg/boot

Then just install the new package over the existing one to resolve the issues
Code: Select all
pkg -i http://lewys-spot.dyndns.org/packages/0.4.x/samba_2.2.7a_nachoman77.pkg
