3rd Party Package Requesting

Postby henke_swe » Wed Mar 16, 2005 3:53 am

Is the new Abyss Web Server X1 version 2.0.0.20 somethin for Freesco?

I do like the nice web console for configuration. Is it possible for freesco + PHP??

Well, it does look like the Freesco kernel is good enough for a compile...
Linux for Intel x86 (any modern distribution - needs GLIBC 2.1 or later - Kernel 2.0 or later)

Freesco uses GLIB 5.x ??
and kernel 2.0.39

So it should work ???

It comes pre-compiled but on my Zipslack it gives my "segmentation fault" :(
All libs seem to be in place:
Code: Select all
zipslack:~/src/abyssws# ldd abyssws
libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x4000e000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x4001f000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40024000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x40000000)

Don't have the time to test it on my FREESCO now...

This is most likely because of missing libraries that it requires. For example, ZipSlack has libc.so.6 but it's just a symlink to libc-2.0.7.so

Could you post a link to the source code so that I can compile it?

EDIT... nevermind, It looks like it's commercial software with only binaries available and no source code. FREESCO does look like it meets the requirements but you might have to check with their support section on how to make it work.

It might work on FREESCO and I'm sure it's good software but I don't like the idea of packaging commercial software for FREESCO

How about xitami?

Xitami supports html and php. It works great in Windows and Linux. Small and more efficient than Apache.

Anybody as compiled it for Freesco?

cheers

Yes, I've compiled xitami a while back. Not too many problems getting it to work on my zipslack (if my fading memory serves me right), which is usually a good sign that it will work on FREESCO as well. Never got to the point of making a package out of it though.

I tried to compile it yesterday but failed :(
It didn't use make to build, but some strange shell-scripts. When running them I got some error messages which I couldn't fix so I gave up.

Any hints, Dingetje?
