038 Vipc Ipsec Cd Kernel

3rd Party Package Requesting

Postby Thasaidon » Wed Dec 12, 2007 10:46 am

I'm currently running 037 with the kernel-037.vipc-ipsec kernel
So I'd hereby like to request a similar kernel for 038,
preferably with vipc - ipsec and cd support

(or I just need glasses because I'm overlooking this kernel on Lightnings site?!? )

all 038 kernels are IPSEC enabled.

list (and readme file) available at home page
<a href='http://www.freesco.org/index.php?id=k' target='_blank'>http://www.freesco.org/index.php?id=k</a>

and as you are aware, kernels are available at Lightning's site
;)

all 038 kernels are IPSEC enabled.

You are so right... I completely forgot reading that several times now.
And I did look on Lightnings site, but I'm not sure I can run the "Triton" kernel on my system
These are the 3 containing cd and vipc, but also the triton...
kernel-038.cd-686-triton-vipc-power_off ... Pentium II (and up) Triton, CD, Apache, APM
kernel-038.cd-586-triton-vipc ... Pentium I (and up) Triton, CD, Apache
kernel-038.cd-586-triton-vipc-old_ide ... Pentium I (and up) Triton, CD, Apache

The triton addon is not exclusive to the triton chipset. Because there are a number of other things that the triton addon provides to the kernel for hard drive optomization. So regardless of whether you have the chipset or not I would recommend having it enabled and if the chipset does not support the addon driver it will not load.
If you are afraid that you might make a mistake. The chances are high that you will never learn anything.

Thanx,

then I'll go with the kernel-038.cd-686-triton-vipc-power_off because I'm running a P3 500
